Hypermonetization Will End the World as We Know It (and I feel fine)

You probably think that I'm being dramatic.

I'm not.

Stick with me and I'll show you evidence that the everything bubble can only get bigger, and that this has been going on for almost all of recorded history.

More importantly, stick around to find out what you can do about it.

It's not a matter of if this blows up, but when. This has happened before, but on a much smaller scale.

But I'm NOT here to spread gloom and doom.

My goal is to help you understand what can happen and what you can do about it so you can live with confidence and in comfort.

What is Hypermonetization?

To put it simply, Hypermonetization is process of extracting increasing amounts of profit out of economic systems.

Or better known as “make number go up.”

That's my definition, others may have a different idea.

Instead of seeking to find an equilibrium between profit and value, economic systems will ultimately strive to maximize profit at the expense of value.

Now obviously it hasn't always been like that.

But I believe that over a long enough timeframe, all economic systems ultimately end with Hypermonetization.

Here's why…

Why Does Hypermonetization Happen?

I believe that most people are reasonable and kind people. At least at their core.

They mostly just want to enjoy their life and be left alone.

However, there is always going to be a very small group of people who are straight up crazy. And I mean truly mentally unstable. That's just how the averages work out.

This group of people only care about themselves and will always prioritize their gain, with no regard to what happens to others.

Unfortunately, since these crazy people only care about having more money, they usually end up with a lot of money…which buys influence.

Now I'm not saying that all rich people are crazy. Again, like with the general population, in my experience, most rich people are kind and extremely intelligent.

However, it's the few bad apples that create Hypermonetization.

They influence those around them into thinking that maximizing profit is the most important thing in the world.

I've seen this a lot in the tech world. Many Techies focus more on things like conversion rates or ROI than customer satisfaction.

The Hypermonetization mentality always starts with a very small group, think oil tycoons in the 1800s or tech billionaires in 1999.

Over time, the mentality of maximizing profit starts to permeate a majority of the population, due to the influence of this small group.

When the average person sees the cars, houses and other fancy stuff people have because of oil, or tech stocks, or Bitcoin, or name-your-bubble, then of course they get interested.

That leads to a downward spiral that cannot be stopped.

The Cause of Hypermonetization

I believe that this all starts with basic human emotions.

There will always be a small group of people who have a lot of innate greed and envy, along with a lack of empathy.

This is where Hypermonetization really begins.

When this group doesn't care how they get ahead, they infect the rest of the population, until there's no more profit left to be extracted.

Now some people may think that Hypermonetization starts with the invention of money. In my opinion, this is not true.

Money is ultimately neutral, not good or bad. It's actually a very useful way to store and transfer value.

Imagine carrying $100,000 in silver coins around town. Not safe or even physically possible for some people.

But during Hypermonetization periods, money becomes corrupted due to the greed and envy of an increasing number of people.

Here's an example…

What Happened in 1971?

The United States was taken of the gold standard in 1933 and the US dollar could no longer be converted to gold internationally in 1971.

Once the dollar was no longer backed by gold, inflation skyrocketed in just the first few years.

How or why the dollar was taken off the gold standard is irrelevant.

The key takeaway is that events like this will always happen because of the greed and envy of a small group of people. It doesn't even matter who these individuals are. The important thing to know is that this group will always exist.

Here's another example…

Weimar Republic

Sometimes these hyperinflation periods take place over a very short period of time.

The Weimar Republic in Germany is one of the most dramatic examples.

One German paper mark started off being equal to 1 gold mark. During the hyperinflation period, 1 gold mark became equal to one trillion paper marks.

If you want to get more details, read this book.

But again, the details are ultimately irrelevant. This has happened many times throughout history and will continue to happen.

Now let's look at a more recent example…

A Push For Subscriptions

You've probably noticed that almost every business is trying to move to a subscription model.

There are some instances where a subscription model is perfect. Think website hosting.

But in many cases, a subscription is almost guaranteed to end badly.

This is because value will eventually be sacrificed for profit.

Think about streaming music and movies.

When I was a kid, we bought movies on VHS or DVD. We bought CDs from the store. We used CD players and iPods.

Once we bought it, we owned it for as long as we wanted.

However, when music and movies are turned into a subscription, they can disappear from a platform if it isn't profitable enough or the creators have a dispute with the platform.

Spotify stopped paying creators that are below a minimum number of monthly streams. Netfilx TV shows often don't continue on past the first season because many are not profitable enough. Netflix also started showing ads in their lowest paid tier.

…and the list will only continue to grow.

So you might want to consider staying away from subscriptions, whenever possible.

How Will This End?

I've read several historical accounts of hyperinflation over the years.

That said, I don't know how Hypermonetization will end. Nobody knows.

All I know is that it will probably be really rough.

In the past, hyperinflation was usually only isolated to individual countries or a few neighboring countries, at most.

But when the entire world is participating in Hypermonetization, the reset will be global and probably beyond anything we could ever imagine.

So it would be a good idea to prepare as much as you can.

Again, I'm not trying to scare you.

I simply want you to be informed and ready.

What You Can Do About It…

Like I mentioned above, I believe that Hypermonetization cannot be stopped. It is a natural course of events that will always happen over time, due to human nature.

The amount of Hypermonetization you experience will depend on which phase of the cycle you live in. Since we are currently in the late stages of the cycle, we are going to get the worst of it.

Many people, including a previous version of myself, get mad or depressed about the situation because they think that we should live in a Utopian society that they dreamed up in their heads.

Well, what you think the world should be like will never be what it's actually like. So if you want to be confident and comfortable during this Hypermonetization period, it's time to face reality and take responsibility for as many things as you can.
