How to Make Natural Face Oil

I'm excited to share how I make my face oil using only natural products. I have been using this specific face oil for about six months, and my skin really likes this all-natural mixture.

This simple idea originated when I asked someone about her beautiful, healthy-looking skin, and she explained that she uses this recipe.

This face oil has just two main ingredients and a couple of simple steps!

Key Ingredients and Benefits

Calendula (Dried Herb)

The Calendula herb is beneficial because it contains many anti-inflammatory properties.

You can purchase the dried herb from a shop.

A local shop is best because that ensures you get the freshest product possible.

Choosing Your Base Oil

The type of oil you use can be adjusted based on your skin type.

  • For oily or combination skin: I use grapeseed oil, as it seems to be very good for skin that tends to be oily or combination.
  • For sensitive skin: Other oils may be better suited for sensitive skin, such as jojoba oil, apricot kernel oil, or sweet almond oil.

Materials Checklist

To create this face oil, you will need the following items:

  1. Dried Calendula
  2. Your preferred oil (Grapeseed oil, Jojoba oil, Apricot Kernel oil, or Sweet Almond oil)
  3. Jar or container for mixing/infusion. A mason jar is best.
  4. 1/4 cup measuring spoon (optional, as exact measuring is not strictly necessary)
  5. Strainer
  6. Separate storage jar (optional, if you want to transfer the finished product)

Simple Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps to create your own infused face oil:

1. Add the Calendula

Take your dried Calendula and put approximately 1/4 cup into your container.

While I used a measuring spoon for demonstration purposes, I usually don't even measure the Calendula exactly.

Once you know about how much a 1/4 cup is, you don't have to measure anymore.

2. Pour in the Oil

Get your grapeseed oil (or other chosen oil) and simply pour this over the Calendula.

Fill the jar up to the desired amount.

Note: If you plan to transfer the finished oil to a smaller jar later, be mindful of how much you fill the mixing container now.

3. Seal and Shake

Put the lid on the container and give it a little shake.

Just a few seconds will do, enough to cover all of the Calendula.

4. Let It Soak

Leave the mixture like this for about a couple of weeks.

This allows the properties of the Calendula to infuse into the oil.

You can leave it longer if you want, but 2 weeks is enough.

5. Strain and Use

After the infusion period, you will need to strain the oil to remove the Calendula bits.

Once strained, the oil is ready to use as your daily face oil.

I often pour the new batch into my old container where the last batch was kept.

This recipe is super easy and relatively inexpensive, so anyone can make it.
