I bought this utensil set because I like to have folding utensils available in my bag.

Having a basic set of utensils on hand has been extremely useful when I grab a quick bite to eat and end up with those cheap plastic forks.

I usually either forget to get the plastic utensils or they break on me.

This issue prompted me to seek out better options for everyday carry.

In my research, I came across the Roxon C2 set and decided to give it a try.

Why the Roxon C2 is Exactly What I was Looking for

The Roxon set is designed to be very compact, while providing a full-sized fork and spoon set.

There are magnets on the handles allowing the fork and spoon to stick together.

The utensils are stored in a canvas bag that comes with the set, making it easy to keep them clean.

Both the spoon and the fork are very good.

I like the fact that they can be used like regular utensils, unlike other solutions that are usually missing some element.

They feature a frame lock mechanism, allowing you to deploy and fold them up securely.

Spoon extended

The magnetic feature is useful for camping because you can join them together and keep them as one unit.

You can use the fork, and then simply flip it over when you need the spoon, eliminating the necessity of keeping track of two separate utensils.

If you've ever had to juggle multiple utensils around a campfire while trying to eat, you'll probably appreciate this feature.

This set is very handy, especially for people who enjoy camping, hiking, or frequent traveling.

Why Other Solutions Fell Short

Before finding the Roxon C2, I experimented with a few other types of portable cutlery.

My first attempt was a small, foldable spork.

While it was cool that it was small and folded out to a full size, the issue was that the tines were not long enough.

For instance, when I ate a salad, the spork would not go deep enough, meaning I only got a couple of leaves with every bite, which was frustrating.

When I ate meat, many times it would not get deep enough to pick up bigger pieces.

The spoon on that model was only okay and was not considered ideal.

Next, I tried separate folding forks and spoons.

This setup offered a full size spoon and fork which worked well. However, the problem was that I had to keep track of two different items.

Additionally, they were bulky and took up a lot of space because they were not made to go together nicely.

Finally, I used a spork that had the spoon and fork attached together.

This provided a full size fork and spoon, but it took up too much space.

The Roxon set when folded up is actually a little over half the size of the average spork solution.

This large combined spork is suitable if you have ample space, perhaps for car camping or truck camping, but otherwise it is not ideal.

The Ideal Solution

I really like the Roxon C2 and believe that this is the ideal solution for portable utensils.

If you know someone who is an avid traveler, hiker or camper, this set is a great gift and isn't very expensive.

It's also a great thing to have in an emergency bag.
